High speed steel reamers are machined from high speed carbon steel with the proper taper for a precision fit with HERCULES Fasteners.
Reamers are suitable for reaming No. 304 and No. 316 stainless steel. Pilot stub guides reamer true, whether using a hand ratchet or variable speed electric drill. Right hand cut with left hand spiral prevents binding. With normal care reamer will last indefinitely.

Q. Can they be used with manganese or hardened couplings?
A. These can be annealed at bolt holes by use of an acetylene torch prior to reaming.
Q. Can they be used in Paddle Mixers?
A. By splitting with a hacksaw compression on the bolt, conveyor, and gudgeon can be achieved with HERCULES Fasteners. Two or three blades mounted together is usually sufficient. This procedure maintains the proper paddle pitch and operating efficiency of the mixer conveyor.
Q. Will they work under high temperatures?
A. Standard Malleable Iron Fasteners are recommended for most applications. Resists corrosion, rust, and high temperatures.
Q. What about spark hazard?
A. Bronze HERCULES Fasteners are recommended for Class 1, Group D installations to reduce spark hazard.
